The New Brunswick government has secured a fourth company to supply the recreational cannabis market once it is legalized in July.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed with Toronto-based Nuuvera Inc. to supply 2.5 million grams of cannabis and related products for the province.
The international company will also set up a state-of-the-art lab in Saint John to process, manufacture and distribute medical marijuana products.\
Three other producers: Canopy Growth Corp., Zenabis and Moncton-based Organigram have also inked supply deals.
All four companies have agreed to provide two per cent of their gross sales to government for efforts supporting cannabis education and awareness.
Cannabis NB, a branch of NB Liquor, will open stand-alone stores and oversee the recreational cannabis retail market in New Brunswick.
