Burial Ground Vandalised

The Black Settlement Burial Ground in Willow Grove, which dates back to 1831, has been vandalised.

Five windows were broken at the memorial building. Stones were found inside, a monument had been thrown into a nearby ditch and a bit of damage to the base of the mock church.

Black History researcher David Peters says it hurts tremendously but what's gratifying is when people from outside the black community come together to make things right.

Peters who's a founding member of PRUDE and descended from black loyalist Thomas Peters doesn't believe the vandalism was racially motivated but most likely carried out by stupid kids who were bored and egged each other on.
