Saint John police confirm they're investigating allegations of improper conduct made against a now-former employee of the Boys and Girls Club.

Insp. Tanya LeBlanc said in a news release today there's nothing to indicate the accusations took place on club property.

The club recently sent a letter to parents and guardians of children who attend making them aware of the allegations.

Our newsroom obtained a copy of the letter, which said the employee in question was suspended as soon as the information came to light.

Program director Amanda Downey told us the employee was later terminated after "new information" came forward.

Police are asking anyone who may have information to contact them.
