Florida Panthers Head Coach Gerard Gallant has taken his past success with the Saint John Sea Dogs and carried it over into the National Hockey League.
Gallant was named to the coaching staff for the NHL All-Star game taking place this weekend in Nashville.
He says it's a true reflection of how well his team is playing.
Gallant says being named to the All-Star coaching staff is "a great honour".
He started coaching the Panthers last year and says his team was able to build off the year, even though they didn't make the playoffs.
Gallant says veteran players like Roberto Luongo and Jaromir Jagr have been able to show the younger players the way.
When asked if he still keeps up with how the Saint John Sea Dogs are doing, Gallant says "he checks the scores every night".
