With the on-and-off deep freeze we've been experiencing this winter you may notice yourself having had to crank up the thermostat to get warm.
Because of that, the province has issued a reminder there are programs available to help you with high energy bills.
The Home Energy Assistance Program is a one-time payment of a hundred dollars to households with a total income up to and including 30-thousand-dollars in 2016. You can apply by going online, going to SNB, or contacting the Department of Finance.
There's also the emergency fuel benefit for households for which Social Development assesses eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
If you are on social assistance, there are programs available if you need help with your energy bills. The province says you should talk to your Social Development case manager about the Fuel Supplement and Bulk Fuel Supplement.
