UPDATED: Worker Falls At Site Of New Irving Oil Home Office

WorkSafeNB is looking into an incident at the new Irving Oil home office where a worker fell.

We are told the injury was serious and a stop work order was issued.

Emergency crews responded to a workplace accident at the new Irving Oil head office on King Square.

Initial calls came in just after 1 p.m. today.

Paramedics, police and fire responded to the scene and it appears as if some workers left the scene.

Irving Oil releasing a statement saying a contract employee was injured on site and taken to hospital but they can't comment on their condition.

It goes on to say they are co-operating fully with the WorkSafe NB investigation adding their thoughts remain with the worker.

At the scene early this afternoon, some workers appeared to leave and about 45 minutes after the first call additional paramedics and police arrived with sirens on.
