Jury selection got underway today at the Moncton courthouse in the trial of Marissa Shephard.
The 22-year old is charged with first degree murder and arson in the death of 18-year old Baylee Wylie in December of 2015.
Marissa Shephard pleaded not guilty to the charges.
1200 jury notifications were sent out.. 14 jurors will be selected for the trial that is expected to last up to 67 days. 12 jurors will deliberate and 2 alternates.
Potential jurors lined up outside the courtroom this morning waiting for access to the courthouse.
Jury selection is expected to last two days.
