The New Brunswick Federation of Labour wants to see all workers be able to live with dignity and respect.
That message from President Patrick Colford this Labour Day long weekend.
Colford tells us he believes unions are more revelant today than ever before. He says unions have a long history of standing up for not only unionized but non-unionized workers as well and that issues like taxation, pay equity along with worker health and safety aren't just issues that affect unionized workers.
Colford citing first contract legislation as a major issue. It's one of the issues the NBFL wants addressed during the New Brunswick election campaign, saying only New Brunswick, PEI and Alberta do not have it in place.
