Grand Barachois Man Sentenced In RCMP Drug Operation

A Grand Barachois man has been sentenced to seven years in prison on various drug related charges stemming from a joint operation by RCMP in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island called Operation Lunge.

Guy Joseph Cormier, 47, appeared in Moncton court today.

He had previously pleaded guilty to 10 charges including four counts of trafficking hydromorphone, two counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in hydromorphone, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, and one count of possession of methamphetamine.

Cormier also forfeited his home in Grand Barachois to the Crown which is valued at approximately $468,000.
