The Saint John Sea Dogs have announced longtime Head Equipment Manager, David "DK" Kelly, has been promoted to the new position of Special Advisor to Hockey Operations. Kelly was in his thirteenth season as the only head equipment manager in Sea Dogs' history, having worked 805 regular season games.

Pekka Rinne made 37 saves in Nashville's 3-2 win over Chicago.....Los Angeles beat Detroit 4-1.....The New York Rangers lost to Florida 5-4 with the winner being scored with just over a minute left in regulation time.....In other play, it was the Islanders over Vancouver 5-2.....Columbus 3 Carolina 2 in a shootout.....Tampa Bay shut out Buffalo 2-0...San Jose extended Philadelphia's winless streak, 3-1.....Edmonton 3 Arizona 2 in overtime and Dallas shut out Vegas 3-0.

The Harbour View High Junior Varsity basketball teams swept Kennebecasis Valley High with the girls winning 55-39 and the boys, 87-57.

In the NBA, for the first time in his career LeBron James was ejected from a game for arguing a call but Cleveland still beat Miami 108-97. The Cavs have now won 9 in a row. Elsewhere, it was Phoenix 104 Chicago 99.....Washington 92 Minnesota 89....Milwaukee 112 Sacramento 87 and Utah 106 Denver 77.

The New York Giants, with a record of 2 and 9, will start Geno Smith at quarterback instead of Eli Manning this weekend against Oakland. Manning has started 210 consecutive games for the Giants with two Super Bowl wins to his credit, both over New England.
