Building And Construction Trades Council Doesn't Want Ban On Shale Gas

The New Brunswick Building and Construction Trades Council wants to get its members some work and its President Gary Ritchie is hoping the door hasn't been shut entirely on shale gas by the incoming Liberal Government.

Ritchie says the older construction workers and tradespeople with their families back in New Brunswick travel back and forth from out west and, as he sees it, are bringing money from there back into the province.

On the other hand, he says it is the younger workers just out of community college who are more likely to settle out west and never come back.

As for incoming Premier Brian Gallant's campaign promise to spend 900 million dollars on infrastructure, Ritchie says the devil will be in the details.
