You can thank El Nino for lower than expected diesel prices this winter.
That's according to Gasbuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Dan McTeague.
He says for winter we usually see averages of 10 to 15 cents a litre above gasoline.
"This has been one of the best seasons we've seen since 2005-2006 as far as price is concerned," says McTeague. "Demand for diesel is not very strong and supply continues to be very robust."
McTeague says milder temperatures means lower consumption rates for diesel which translates to lower prices.
