Too Much Good Food Is Being Thrown Away

Perfectly good food is being thrown away because of consumer attitudes that are wrongheaded. That word from Dr. Evan Fraser, the Canada Research Chair for Global Food Security.

He says one misapprehension is how certains foods should look when their shape has nothing to do with how good they taste or how good the food is for you.

Dr. Fraser adds a lack of understanding about best before dates is also contributing to food wastage because best before refers to the freshness of foods but eating them after the best before date doesn't make them dangerous to your health.
