A social media blurb by the Mayor responding to a story about commute times in Canadian cities has really caught on.

Mayor Don Darling told folks who live in Toronto and Vancouver to avoid those two hour commutes they should move to Saint John.

The Mayor did a flurry of media interviews on Monday and had 73,000 hits on the Reddit home page.

He says with average home prices over a million dollars in Toronto and less than $190,000 here, people are very interested.

Mayor Darling says the city really needs to get the word out so when someone does an online search asking for a better place to live, Saint John comes up first.
