A Toronto-based company wants to set up a medical cannabis testing laboratory in west Saint John.
Nuuvera Corp. has applied to the city to rezone a 25,000-square-foot building at 384 Lancaster Avenue.
The former retail store was converted to a technology office and is on the market for $1.2 million.
The company says it will employ about 15 highly experienced scientists and skilled personnel once the building is ready for operation, and that number will eventually rise to about 25 employees or more.
Residents have until Feb. 28 to make written objections to the proposal, at which time Common Council will decide whether to refer the application to the Planning Advisory Committee.
You can contact city hall for more details about the proposal.
